Sensex ends up 47pts

The Sensex finally ended (provisional) with a gain of 48 points at 17,147. The Nifty was up 17 points at 5,129. ____________________________________________________ The market breadth is positive, out of 2,850 shares traded, 1,716 have advanced and 1,039. The capital goods index has soared 1.5% to 13,774 and the power index is up 1% at 3,038, respectively.
